They seem so confused about what it actually says.

There's a reason for that. Haven't you noticed that some of the left-winged lunatics only read what they want to read?

Well you could try reading it.

From what I have seen the conservatives think the the Constitution says "And the President shall be the Lord High Emperor of that land, any security group has unlimited power and has immunity from all law and oversight, the people will have no recourse or rights to have any control over government, it's policies, and the government will be deemed 100% incapable of abusing authority which makes anything they do legal".

Sane> Try reading the 1st amendment. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..." now apply the definition of the words in English and you get the Separation of Church and State since Congress is FORBIDDEN to make laws about religion..meaning religion is forbidden from affecting laws (common sense) yet CONSERVATIVES are trying to put marriage, A RELIGIOUS INSTITUTION, into the Constitution. I mean this is a crystal clear case of hypocrisy and betrayal of the Constitution letter and spirit.

Skip G> the ACLU is supposed to defend the bill of rights..that's it. I agree though that they have gone WAY off track with some of their stuff..although some stuff like God on money in UNconstitutional, was added in 50's and maybe should be removed if we wanna actually make govt accountable to Constitution.

I guess it's like any other document that's written to withstand the ages -- let them read and interpret it on their own. What they get out of the document may vary from your own interpretation. The interpretation of lawyers is going to vary from the general populace.

Almost everyone seems forgetful of the beauty written into this very wonderful document. Don't worry so much about foisting your own thoughts on your friends. America is great in part because the intent and fluidity written into the Constitution has gotten us through war and peace and so much in between.

I stand in awe of the framers of this document, that they had the foresight and vision to craft such a piece and set the country on a solid course. Understand that -- where those early men came from and what brought them to that point -- and you will understand the Constitution.

The problem with those damn liberals is that they take the Constitution and interpret it as it would appear in modern days. Whereas those ever-so-smart neo-cons take it literally and as translated 200+ years ago... Dangit, why can't those liberals learn that NOTHING has changed in the past 230 years?! Stupid, ignorant buttholes. I mean, honestly, has science, medicine and theological ideology changed AT ALL?! NO! That's why they have such a hard time understanding a document from 231 years ago that has no effect on modern times because modern times are no different from the 18th century! Honestly, some of those dang liberals think they're so smart, interpreting the Constitution as if times have changed. Dumb bastards!

Because with liberals it is all about feelings there is nothing you can do. Despite the use of clear English in the writing of the constitution liberals feel the founders must have meant something other than what they wrote

The Constitution is written in very exact language. However, when liberals use twisted logic to find meanings that aren't in the Constitution, you get things like abortion rights, gay rights, black rights, etc, etc.

Yes, this is a very hard issue you've chosen to tackle as they are fairly illiterate. They try to get by that by presenting that the Constitution is a "Living Document", which means they can interperate it in what ever manner they wish to fit their sick agenda. They like to make believe that clauses exist when they are nowhere to be found, a good example would be "Seperation Of Church And State", its NOWHERE in the entire document yet they preach about it and convince idiot liberal judges that it does exist and thats when people rights get violated. Keep working on the problem, you'll eventually wear them down.

Liberals use the constitution to their own advantage when it serves them best, perfect example of being ACLU. When there is an issue that serves their interest like hating God, America and bashing Republicans.

Try quoting it at them.

Such as amendment 5, which says the government shall not take private property for the public good.

(ya know, when Hillary Clinton says she's going to take the oil company profits to start a strategic alternative energy fund)
