Francisco lives in Los Angeles and leaves for a birthday party in London on his private jet. The jet travels at a constant rate of 400 miles per hour. The party is for noon on Saturday in London and he leaves at 7:30 PM on Friday in Los Angeles. Once he arrives in London, he has a 40 minute tube ride to the party. The flight travels a total of 1.728x10 to the 6th power. (Can't do superscript on here)

1) What time does he make it in London?
2) Does he make to the party on time?
3) How early or late does he arrive at the party?
4) What time does he have to leave London if he meets Eduardo at the airport in Los Angeles for 9AM on Monday knowing he will leave from the party the same way he came?

1 rod =16.5 feet. 80 rods = 1/4 mile. 80 rods x4= 320rods or 1 mile. 1,728,000/320 =5400 miles from LA to London. 5400/400=13.5 hours

I think the answer to 1) 5pm. 2) he's late 3) 5 hours 40 min late. 4) 3:30 am??? Not sure on this one

This is what I got. London is 8h ahead of LA.

I believe that London is (currently) only 7 hours ahead of the West Coast, due to US Congress implementing early activation of daylight savings. Based on the traditional 8 hour gap, answers 1-3 are correct.

To solve for 4.

He needs to arrive in LA at 9am. Add 8 hours for UK time, means he needs to arrive at 5pm UK time. His flight is 13.5 hours long, so stepping back that far takes you to 3:30am UK time. He has the 40 minute tube ride to get to the airport, so he needs to leave at 2:50am.
