Yes.
It just needs to be sent as an "attachment".
When you receive the email just right-click the attached file & choose "save as".

It depends on the size of the file and the restrictions in place by their email provider and yours. Many email services place a limit on the size of an email. If the size of the file is larger, it will be blocked.

There is a way around this however. You can pack the file using winrar. Winrar allows you to break a file up into many small bites, which can be emailed separately and reassembled on your end. It is available here

You can also find a free ftp service. one is
http://www.sendthisfile.com

However the free service will "throttle" large files, so it will transfer slowly. You can pay for unthrottled service. If winrar works for you, I would go that route. Your email provider doesn't normally throttle downloads.

The best way to transfer/share mp3 files is by using http://www.yousendit.com/

It will save you space in your inbox/outbox, and is usually a lot quicker than trying to upload the file as an attachment.

It will still send e-mail notification of sending/receiving the file, but does it on a different platform for you. Try it out!

Of course, it's just like any other file that can be attached to an email and you can save it

Normally Yes, assuming they are under about 5 MB. Anything bigger and it will likely be rejected, however it really depends on your email server setup and the recipients...
