I do not really believe that he slept only for an hour in a day. May be he stole sleep in between his busy schedules. Those who are used to disturbed and unsystematic sleep pattern will suffer in the long run. May be that will explain his dare devilry which ultimately proved to be his undoing.

He had no time for regular 8 hours of sleep.
People cannot do this indefinitely.
Most people need catching up on sleep, from time to time.
Most of us need 8 hours to ten hours of sleep. Some can get by with only 4 hours on regular bases. Lots of people can get by on cat napes, of 1 hour at a time but total in there case is usually around 10 to 12 hours.
He must be taking cat napes on his horse, while riding it, must be meeting commanders at night and doing things like planning and getting 1 hour of night sleep only.

That may have happened a few times but I'm guessing it was not usual. Humans need sleep. Where did you get such erroneous information?

normal human being can not continue such a practice; as far as we know Neolian Bonapart was a very normal high caliber person;so the information is very very much exagarated.
