friendship is a relationship between a persons, it's kinda you give trust, and love to that person!
friendship has many limitations too, not that means your friends you can give your whole trust with that persons, and not that even your friends had to do limitations to not all can give your support for them!
in friendship age doesn't matter at all, if you want to be friend with the oldest person in the world you can!
yeah, it's always ! we react at each other too!
friendship can be any distance whether your from california then your from japan, it's okay, as long as your friends and have communication! as long as you stay good with that person!

I just answered the Q what is love?
The answer here would be almost similar.
It is unconditional giving. you don't expect other person to love you in exchange for your love at least not in the same manner as you yourself.
The reason is very simple: you have control over your emotions and other person (over his/ hers) may love somebody else in the same manner but not necessarily you.
If you blame other person for not loving you enough; then its you, whose love quotient (LQ) is a suspect not the other person's.
The barriers in friendship are just far more wider than the love between gf/ bf but otherwise love is a more wide term.
Friendship is more on equal terms but in love one person may be in too dominating a position. In love you want to be nearer while friendship can be maintained around the globe.
In age difference, the friendship remains on equal terms only, but age difference in love changes the way you love that person.
See, i've gone one better. You asked for friendship and I answered for love also.
