CORRECTION: I am keeping the pedal...i decided to play with the settings of the pedal one more time, and once i figured out what i liked, I figured out that this pedal is the best metal pedal out there. two noise gates! three sounds! who cares if its "digital"!

you gotta pay buddy.
for 125 bucks or so you can get the greatest pedal ever.
the ibanzez tube screamer. it's pefect man. they make a crappy replica of it for half the money, but it's noway as good as the original. i could go on and list dozens of guys that use it, but i won't. check it out at your guitar store. you'll love it, whether you play thru a solid state or tube amp. it sounds great.

ps, anything line 6 has sucks. it's all too digital sounding. makes guitars sound like toys or computers, not like a guitar.

It depends on what you're looking for. The Boss Metal Zone is perfect for metal distortion. For overdrive, the Boss Super OverDrive or the Ibanez TS-9 Tubescreamer are excellent.

I don't have a decent one but I record on a BOSS-BR 900 CD and it has like 100 different guitar programs built in and some of the metal ones are really bassy so if I decide to use them I really have to eq the final mix. peace

well, definently not a Danelectro Black Coffee pedal. It doesn't sound good and all the knobs fell off :(
