Absolutely! and for the reason you mentioned.

But only if Britain requests it...
I have a feeling they can take care of business by themselves.

In this entire world, England has been our only true Ally
(might throw Australia in the mix though).
There is no doubt America would stand behind her no matter what the circumstances.

As far as Iran, this is the opportunity they've been looking for to get back at the coalition and are going to use it to their fullest advantage...
and that is to try to test the mettle of the U.K. (and U.S.)
Right now, I think enough is enough and Britain needs to set up an offensive line (along with the U.S.) and start pushing back until those troops are released.

Diplomacy with Iran is a big joke and will get us nowhere and will achieve nothing (as we've seen in the recent U.S. decision to impose additional sanctions on Iran).
Let's just hope no harm comes to any of those 15 hostages, and that's just what they are...hostages.
It's 1979 all over again.

No, but not for the reason you think.

I think the United States and Britain should fully co-operate in firm action against Iran. But not in any misguided rescue attempt, a la the 1979 Iran hostage crisis.

The Iranians are testing our resolve. They want to see whether we have the fortitude to stand up to their acts of aggression. The proper answer is not to treat the prisoners as hostages, but to take firm action that will show Teheran that we mean what we say.

And it we don't? Expect an exchange of nuclear bombs between Teheran and Tel Aviv in the very near future.

Only if the British ask for it. You can guarantee that the branches of the British millitary who specialise in such things will probably already be in Iran awaiting the word. The rescue will probably be quick and quiet.... the last thing the prisoners need is thousands of american tanks, bunker busters and cluster bombs being dropped on terhan!!

Yes, if it comes to that.
I still think this is a calculated provocation on Iran's part, and the British soldiers will be returned.
But in any case, the US and the Brits should stand firm together.

Yes, because Britain has been our strongest ally in the war on terror. I do not agree with the war, but that is just how it is.

Here is the deal. Nobody has our back like Britain. I used to party with them in Turkey. Nobody else was there. If they need us, we need to help. I think we could just bomb Iran when things heat up. I don't think we need to invade.

There is no choice. Britain has backed us. If we should fail them, say goodbye to us as a revered superpower. I would move. We will have their backs. And I anyone who thinks otherwise is questionable as a friend of anyone.

If the U.S. did some of the worlds leftists would just conjure up another conspiracy theory...like They volunteered to get captured so it would give the U.S. an the Brits an excuse to go to war with them.
