In recent days, I have seen alot of questions and answers from people claiming to be a "black woman", "Chinese boy", "Hindu", "from Pakistan" etc etc, however just by looking at the other Q & As on their profile, it would appear that they are masquarading. Have you noticed this? Do you think people create multiple identities on YA?

Redchilli. I totally understand your point, why would people want do do this? There are specific examples I had in mind so that you could see for yourself what I am talking about. I think it would be much clearer to you. But I don't want to start naming names.

This is always happening. The race fakers are usually really nasty too. Some people want to get their kicks out of being really abusive.
I could understand why some people might want another identity to ask an embarrassing question. Those that do it to create havoc, are just sad.

Yes. Sometimes they are booted from Y/A and come back with different names too. People pretend to be others, as if it really mattered. If you don't want people to know who you are, they can't find out. I guess if you had nothing else to do in life you could spend all your time here, working on your multiple identities!

But how do you know they are not what they are by just looking at their profile pictures? Most of them are avatars & the photos are too small to distinguish anybody's features let alone characteristics. And what would the purpose be?

Yes, they do. It is the sense of anonymity that persuades many people to ask certain questions(and answers)
