Da Blues Man !

Review:

"Thus far the cheaper 7600GS would sound like the better product, offering greater flexibility in its memory and interface support.
However, while the 7600GS is cheaper and possibly more flexible, it's also CONSIDERABLY SLOWER than the 7600GT despite having the same amount of pixel pipelines.

This is because the 7600GT core comes clocked 160MHz higher and the memory operates 600MHz DDR faster.

This can boost memory bandwidth from the 12.8GB/s of the 7600GS, to a much more impressive 22.4GB/s for the 7600GT."

you will in all risk by no skill use 1gb of Video Ram... The 512mb DDR3 card is a no-brainer. i could want to point out that the 5450 isn't for video games. this is for video playback. you would be way extra advantageous of with a 6570 or a GT 440.

At $150USD, these are your best bests:

1) 7600 GT - 256mb GDDR3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814122245

2) Radeon X1950GT - 256mb DDR3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102034

You want GDDR3 instead of GDDR2. 256MB of ddr3 will blow out most 512MB ddr2 cards. Mainly because the core clock speeds on ddr3 cards can be a lot higher, thus moving the info along much faster.

There are exceptions of course - the GTX series of nVidia cards at 512mb are good, but you won't find any at $150.

DDR2 was old ram used. DDR3 is the new expensive modern ram(which makes it faster than DDR2). If you are going to get one, get the ddr3 one.
