Positive for sure. People think that because celebrities have money they should automatically support charities and such, but this is not true. Bono is one of the few celebrities you actually hear about trying to make a difference in the world. He has met with world leaders--even those he might not agree with--to try to make changes, namely to provide aide for those in need in Africa. If it weren't for him, I certainly wouldn't know how grave the situation is over there, and I'm sure it's the same for others as well.
People can go on and on all they want about the man's ego and yes, I will concede, he has one, but so what? He's also got an enormous heart the likes of which the world seldom sees.

Bono is a very positive role-model who unfortunately gets a lot of flak for his good deeds.
People are naturally weary whenever a celebrity gets behind a cause, but Bono has done more than this. He's put his actions, his money and his time where his mouth is and inspired a lot of people to get behind him.
That put aside, the music he has created the last three decades with U2 has been some of the most inspirational and uplifting music ever recorded.
I am not a religious person. I actually cannot stand how religion separates and segragates more than it unites. I am however a deeply spiritual person. And I can attest without a doubt that I would probably have little to no spirituality in my life if I hadn't been inspired by U2 and Bono's lyrics to look further for the Truth.
In my life, he has been and will continue to be a very positive role-model. Anyone who says otherwise is probably just a cynical jerk who likes to criticize others for being decent people.

definitely postive, look at all he supports. not only is he a great performer and singer and in one of the greatest bands ever, he is also a very influental public speaker. there are many people out there who would love to do the same and dont have the money or social status as he does, but thats just the thing, he has that status and he chooses to make the best with it and do what he can to help. he is also married and has been throughout his career and has children, he proves that is possible too.

Positive. He's one of the only celebrities that channels his fame into a giving outlet. The man works harder than any other politician or figure head to help end AIDS and poverty. How people can think that is a negative thing is beyond me.

I think Bono is an overrated, overinflated ***. Its so easy be so generous when you have his money. I think the attention he receives is not in any way necessary. I bet he gets up and kisses the mirror every day.
