I don't know...but let me give you a history lesson. I fancy myself to be a good person, I try to be nice to everyone and do all of my work and make the world a better place.

First, in 2005, Hurricane Katrina destroyed our beloved home. Then our 21 year old cat died a month later. Then my sister's horse died. Next, our house was robbed. Twice. My sister's rat died. Not to mention my mom's business has been tanking and we now live off of half of what poverty income is supposed to be, and she had to get two second jobs.

To top it all off, a gunman walked into my classroom on September 27th and killed one of my classmates.

Is life fair?

No.

Sometimes bad things just happen. It's not an assault against anyone, personally. In other words, it has to happen to someone. I'm sure "good" things happen to "good" people, too. Also, "good" is a relative term.

I'm sure plenty of "good" people smoke cigarettes, but it's still no surprise when they develop lung problems or even cancer 20 years later. Bad thing? Yes, but only because of a bad decision. It doesn't mean the person was ever bad.

Simple: because there is not rule such

"good people>>>good things/luckiness"

One thing has nothing to do with the other, you know. Theleologically, we could say that such things happen to put the good people in a situation where he or she is under "God's eye", which will check if the good person is good even though bad things go happening the him/her...

You got? I've been thinking 'bout it.

Bye and have a good week!

I've offered this story before.... Seems appropriate.

-"Maybe" -
"There is a Taoist story of an old farmer who had worked his crops for many years. One day his horse ran away. Upon hearing the news, his neighbors came to visit.
'Such bad luck,' they said sympathetically.
'May be,' the farmer replied.
The next morning the horse returned, bringing with it three other wild horses.
'How wonderful,' the neighbors exclaimed.
'May be,' replied the old man.
The following day, his son tried to ride one of the untamed horses, was thrown, and broke his leg. The neighbors again came to offer their sympathy on his misfortune.
'May be,' answered the farmer.
The day after, military officials came to the village to draft young men into the army. Seeing that the son's leg was broken, they passed him by. The neighbors congratulated the farmer on how well things had turned out.
'May be,' said the farmer."

The real Truth is good and bad are judgements we place upon events based upon our idea of what "should be". Based upon our attachments to things, feelings, and people. Pain of loss and regret and our limited human perspective cloud our vision of a greater reality.

This story and the truth that it conveys doesn't make it any easier to take certain "bad things" when they happen, but it does offer a bit of faith that sometimes "good things" can come after tragedy.

One stream of belief says that good people are tested and purified by the adversities they face.

Another logic is that it is bad people who do bad things to others, therefore it is more than likely that good people will be the object of such ill deeds.

The truth may be that when bad things happen to bad people, it is seen as just rather than bad, whereas when good people are the victim, it stands out and hurts.

All part of the growing / Learning process. What does not kill you makes you stronger.
I feel that bad things happen to teach us a lesson on how to work with someone we will meet in the future who may be in a similar position that we were in.
for example, 4 months ago I admitted that I am an alcoholic, I am learning to deal with it through AA, and someday I will be able to help someone who is in the same boat as I.
I think and only my opinion is that I was to become one to help others. I may be way off but who knows

I think there are several different types of good people.
for example
good people who smile always and have fun most of the time

good people who is too sensitive --- shh bad things happens to these type of good people ;).

All you have to do is learn something new from bad experience or good experiance.

This is a book.

My theory is that there are no bad things, it's all in perception.
Also the law of attraction applies here.
One must think and dwell on what one desires and this will manifest itself.

Peace and blessing!!

There are no bad things.

All of it is a gift. We just need to be aware of this and try to see what each situation has to teach us.

Love and blessings Don
