Most tourists fly into Sangster Airport at Montego Bay. As far as where to stay, that depends on what you like. All resorts are not alike and they offer different amenities and services. Think about what it is that you want in a resort and go from there. For example, do you want one that caters to children? Or perhaps you want a resort that doesn't even allow kids (several require age 14 and over or even 18). Do you want a relaxing, romantic, or a fun resort? Do you want a nice beach? Some have great beaches, some small ones, and some none at all. Do you want a 5 star resort or will a 3 star be adequate? These are just examples of questions that you need to ask yourself before deciding which resort to choose.
After you decide what you want in a resort then go to TripAdvisor.com and research. Type in Jamaica in the search area and you can view every resort on the island. You can then view the amenities to see whether the resort is what you are looking for. You can also read trip reports written by previous visitors, view "candid traveler photos" that some of them posted, see what other attractions the area offers, and ask questions in the "forums" section. It is a great site for researching a vacation.
In my opinion choosing the right resort is more important than choosing an area. You will spend most of your time at the resort so make sure you choose one that is right for you.

Well the rates aren't that different by airports, it really depends on the airline you choose. Montego Bay has the better airport and better facilities there. It also has lots of hotels as it is part of tourist hot spots. So if you are looking for sand and beaches, and a few clubs, Mobay is for you. If not Kingston: Norman Manley International,

It depends on what city you're going to. I am assuming you are going to the north coast. Flying into Ocho Rios might be more expensive, but you have to consider the cost of trasportation from the airport in Kingston to the hotel and back. It can also be a long ride. Why waste time in a car when you can be laying on the beach drinking rum punch!

Montego bay airport.
We used Apple Vacations for our trip to the RIU Ocho Rios. It's all inclusive (flight, hotel, food, drinks, transfer to/from airport, tips). They provide a very large and nice charter bus for everyone going to your resort and on that 2 hour drive, your driver points out everything and teaches you so much about Jamaica! go to www.tripadvisor.com It has thousands of reviews and pictures posted by real travelers of every resort!!!
