I have to do this as work but I have no idea what i am doing wrong. I even tried to just write out the 50cents. Can anyone help?

Well for one thing you did not put today's date, you put that string of zeros. You need to put 03/26/07.

I don't know about your teacher, but my bank accepts checks from me as follows:
Thirty Seven Dollars and 50/100-------------
Or
Thirty Seven Dollars and ----------------50/100
I always write them in the second format. Use the "and" and draw a line to make it more difficult to alter the check. Honestly, I think a bank would accept it as you wrote it.
