Does a non publicly traded company have to retain email?

With all of the new regulations and policies put into affect recently, does anyone have any good sources stating if a non publicly traded company (wholesaler specifically) needs to archive email for legal reasons?

This company is in OH.

You should check with the State in which the company is incorporated. It is different between States.
