My favorite Inspiring Movies. My favorites are inspiring "teacher" movies, cuz I have worked as a teacher.

Some great ones you should see are:

October Sky (a beauty to watch)
Mr. Holland's Opus
Stand and Deliver
Music of the Heart
Hidden in Silence (harder to find, but it's an awesome story of selflessness and courage, risking life to save others)
The Scarlet and the Black
Christy
Patch Adams
Life is Beautiful
The Color Purple (a masterpiece of a movie)

any of those will leave you with a warm glow in your heart and the desire to be a better person, help others, or reach for your dreams.

I think that the most inspirational movie was "Crash" (2005). It taught me a lot about what it means to be a racist, from any perspective. I think it opened my eyes to silent racism, and racial ignorance. Even though I still feel racist, I can now appreciate the fact that there are people who hate me because I'm a white male. But my favorite movie? The Goonies.

Pay it forward, with Haley Joel Osmond (SP?) the kid from the sixth sense. It was a great movie about doing something good for a stranger and asking for nothing in return

I got a degree in Anthropology after seeing Indiana Jones. Anthropology has changed the way I look at life in general and has helped me understand others and not apply my world view to other people.

Coach Carter. Liked the way he put school before bball, and got the kids to realize they need an education as well as the skills on the court.

I know I'm going to sound like a geek, but I found the entire Star Wars series, with it's classic tale of good and evil, and the characters themselves to be quite influential in a "zen" sort of way.
