I don't know of any way to eliminate them in the grass through organic means. A nice spray of malathion does quite nicely though.

If you're insistent on going the organic route, you have to try to get them while they're in the larval stage. Eliminate any standing water in or around your property; gutters, drains, buckets, wheelbarrows, puddles and more can be fertile breeding spots for mosquitos. If there is a reason for water somewhere, you can get bacillus thuringiensis donuts to throw in the water that will control the larvae. They're available at many co-ops, nursery, farm supply, or hardware stores. If you do have a pond, having fish will cut down greatly on the mosquito larvae population.

Put up bat houses. You may not think that they are around but bats are everywhere. Bats thrive on mosquitoes and are capable of devouring millions and they are nice enough to do it at night. Bats may take a year or so to adopt your bat house so this is a long term solution. It will be worth the wait. Also encourage birds to hang out at your house. Chicadees, finchs, grosbeaks, all need insects to nourish their young and if they like your house they will stick around and eat many of your mosquitoes. Do not leave anything out that may be a source of standing water. Check your property thoroughly. Something as simple as a can, watering can, tire, hub cap, garbage can lid or any other item capable of holding just a little bit of water can be a home to thousands of mosquitoes. Rain gutters are really bad for this kind of thing. When I searched my yard, I was amazed at how many items held just a little water.

Get rid of all standing water. Look carefully all around and see what you might be missing. It only takes a small puddle! And encourage bats.
