While many large tea brands are offering green tea and flavored varieties to their customers, it's best to actually read the label before purchasing any packages.
Many mix other leaves in with the green tea, making it a hybrid of many tastes and most likely cutting down on the health benefits as you only get a smaller portion of true green tea.
Read the labels carefully before purchasing any box that brags "green tea" to make sure that you are getting the most worth for your money.
If possible, go to a health food store and/or purchase brands that you know are reliable and truthful about their content.

Okay, if you want the most benefit from Green Tea then you want to get authentic tea-the freshest and from the most direct source. Bagged Lipton has been processed and who knows how long its been on the shelf-and time dissapates the nutrients. If you live in a city that has a Chinatown or Japanese area then those would be the ideal choices. After that, would come a health food store/co-op that has loose bulk tea. If those options are not accessible then get a brand that is as pure as you can find. Lipton has just jumped on the bandwagon now that green tea has become more popular. You would be better off staying with brands that understood the benefits of green tea, long before Lipton even produced its brand of it. There's got to be a health store somewhere near where you live-best thing is to go there and find someone who works there to point out your brand choices.
I personally get my Green Tea from Thailand, China and Japan. Home grown. It doesn't taste anything like what these U.S. packaged brands taste like.

I wouldn't recommend drinking any instant green tea. If you can, drink regular green tea, or even loose-leaf, which is the healthiest.
A study conducted by USDA measures the amount of green tea catechins found in different types of green tea: instant green tea, flavored green tea, decaffeinated green tea, teabag and loose-leaf green tea.
30% of green tea is catechins, which contains almost all its antioxidants.
According to USDA, the regular green is the healthiest:
100 millimetres of regular green tea contains 127 milligrams of catechins.
Decaffeinated brewed green tea contains only 56 milligrams, less than half of the catechins found in an original brew.
Flavored brewed green tea has 43 milligrams.
Disappointingly, instant green tea has only 12 milligrams.
Read the first article to find out more. Also check out the article on loose-leaf available from the China 2007 harvest.
I am glad you've got your green tea - they are great!

I trust the real green tea from China, usually you have to buy it in a health food store, its called China Green Tea and comes in a green box. They have been doing green tea for about 4000 years so I would say they know what their doing. Green tea is rich in flavonoids with antioxidant and anti-allergen properties. Green tea combats free-radical damage to protect against degenerative disease and boosts enzyme production in the body. It also has antibiotic, antiviral and antibacterial properties and is highly valued as a cancer preventive. Take two or three cups daily for the greatest benefit.
