To abort something means to STOP so to have a Abortion means Stoping something and the process of Stoping something. In most cases pregancy.

"abortion" in the aborting a baby sense of the word means just that...you are aborting, or putting a stop to their life. Its neither right or wrong as circumstances and moral judgement dictate this. And who is to say who is right or wrong?
(Please don't say God....! )
Anything which is imminently going to happen can be aborted (unless its past the point of no return)
Just think about things before you do them...concequences are paramount!

To abort means to discontinue and abortion means the act of not continuing your objective. In medical parlance abortion means the act of discontinuing the conception of the baby. In military, it means the discontinuity of whatever military operations.
