i really need help in a research project........?

Question

topic: detailed study of whether microsoft is a monopoly or not.
i am conducting a survey and my question to you guys is that, how many of you use microsoft and why do you use it?
please this is really important and i hope that you will help me out and answer to my question.

qeustion is : do you use microsft and why do you use it?

I use microsoft products simply because that's what I'm used to. I mean I used to used DOS, but even that was owned by microsoft I believe. However I had a commodore computer from the time I was born until I was 5 or 6. Which my father still has (yes, it works, but it's in a box). Commodore wasn't owned by microsoft.
However I have used linux on occasion (ubuntu or whatever it was called). But sadly, I like Windows better.
When I was in grade school and high school, they used Macs (which I hate). I don't like the way the operating sytem is setup. Or the way the computer hardware is so proprietary (or at least they use to be, they may not be now).

I use Microsoft as do approx 50% of people , and that is because Microsoft untill just recentley controlled the majority oif the Home PC Market, up untill the boom in computing in the late 80's microsoft had been just one of many offering software packages but with the creation of windows software which incorporated the most popular programes such as word, excel, etc they managed to convince the manufacturers OEM's to install their product at source so providing the customers with a PC that had all the utilities on where as prior you bought a PC then had to purchase seperate operating systems and software, thus began the Micropsoft Monopoly for over a decade of the PC Market, things however have now changed and they have lost their market dominance due to free trade and pressure from the world markets and governments who in the interests of fair trading standards have insisted that everyone be given fair chance,.

I use Microsoft. There are a couple reasons why...

1. I just always have.
2. The computers I buy come with Microsoft software.

i use ms and reason being that ms windows is the most common operating system used for home pcs, laptops, school computers, etc.. and microsoft office is a common software used to get your work done.. many people will probably tell you the same thing..
