Are there any people out there between the ages of 25-40 who don't drink or do drugs? My husband and I feel as though we are a dying breed. We don't drink and have never touched pot or any other drugs. Everyone we meet either neglect their kids to go party and get drunk or sit at home smoking pot and doing drugs in front of there kids! We are 27 and 33 so we aren't young or old. lol Just curious if anyone else has this problem? We have pretty much no friends because we like being a family with our children and not out running around to bars or looking for our next fix. This seems to be a horrible trend, I just don't understand. Ok so I guess my question is are we a dying breed or have we just not met the right people?

Our decisions on drinking and drugs have to do with life experiences. Maybe if some of you who are putting us down for choosing not to do these things would walk a day in our shoes your opinions would be different but maybe not. Anyhow to clear up, YES! we have morals and want our children to grow up with parents that have a clear mind and judgement. It is called being a role model for our children! Until you have lost a 3 yr old brother because of a drunk driver, an unborn child to a person who made the decision after drinking beyond his limit to get behind the wheel of a car to go buy pot and in the process hitting you head on, or your own parents because their addiction out ruled any responsibility to their family. Don't say we are high and mighty because we are not! We are very down to earth people who enjoy life without drugs and alcohol. So I will close this discussion before it goes any further. Thank you for any input that was not rude and disrespectful.

Well I am not in the 25-40 age bracket that you mentioned, but I am 22 and do not drink or do drugs. I can't say that I didn't use to, but I have smartened up and realized that there is alot more out there than mere things like alcohol and drugs. Not to mention I am trying to start a family and DO NOT want my kids around that. I live in a small area and have to agree that everyone I meet does drugs or drinks. I cut off all my friends for this exact reason. I have made a couple new friends that are more like me in the no drugs or alcohol aspect. For the most part though it really seems like that's what this world is coming to. It is such a shame. I watch people bring their kids into restaurants and sit at the bars and get wasted, its horrible and quite disgusting. And people wonder why the generation of kids coming up are so inconsiderate and unruly. What is this world coming to?!?!

No, you and your husband are the sole occupants of the moral high ground. Everyone else is a drunken, drug-crazed negligent ne'er-do-well. Yours is a high and lonely destiny.

Smoking and drinking as a form of relaxation has been around since the dawn of mankind, what makes you think that is going to change because you don't do it? A bigger question for yourself would be why haven't you and your husband joind a religous group? Your lifestyle would be perfect for one and you would make many friends there, so I don't understand why this hasn't happened.

OOPS! I thought you wanted to know about someone who doesn't drink or smoke pot, but does drugs ... since thats not the case ... can't help you!

However, I'm rather curious as to how you manage to find so many alchoholic, child-neglecting, dope-chasing, potheads?!?

Get over yourself and accept people for who they are and what they choose to do on their time. I'm sure you have some nasty habits or morbid addiction outside of drugs and alcohol. It really sounds like your husband and yourself are searching for other peoples faults to feel better about something you are missing in your life.
