It is when a woman terminates her pregnancy--it usually happens because the baby is not wanted (or any other reason, maybe fanancial issues). This is a big controversy these days because people believe it is not moral to end someone's life who hasn't even had the chance to live in the outside world yet.

An abortion is the removal or expulsion of an embryo or fetus from the uterus, resulting in or caused by its death. This can occur spontaneously as a miscarriage, or be artificially induced by chemical, surgical or other means. Commonly, "abortion" refers to an induced procedure at any point during pregnancy; medically, it is defined as miscarriage or induced termination before twenty weeks' gestation, which is considered nonviable.

Throughout history, abortion has been induced by various methods. The moral and legal aspects of abortion are subject to intense debate in many parts of the world.

or to put it more simply, it is the loss of a baby when a woman in pregnant in the first 20 weeks of pregnancy
( human pregnancy usually lasts about 40 weeks)
it can be natural, thats is the mother looses the baby it dies by natural means often called a miscarriage. or it can be induced by drugs or surgery.
there are many reasons for it and it is grossly unreasonable to call it murder. NO mother happily aborts her baby and in all circumstances there are serious emotional repercussions for the mother never underestimate what it costs the mother in any circumstances

abortion is when you let a stranger kill your tiny helpless living child that is inside you. It is the end of the baby but for many many women its the beginning of years of depression and regret. No, I do not know all and cannot speak for all but of the many I do know they are haunted by this. sometimes they are a little numb for a while, then they start thinking, If my baby were alive, what would she be doing right now? kissing me? telling me she loved me? they close their eyes at night and see haunting images of of a dead child.
but hey, if you cant afford diapers then its ok, huh?

a man made miscarriage. They stick something up into your womb and stab the baby with it, depending on how far along you are, and then once they see they have killed the baby, they use a vaccum to suck it out, which tears the baby's body apart. Sometimes, if it's early enough, they just start sucking the baby out with the vaccum without killing it first, tearing it to shreds as it comes out. For partial birth abortions, they actually put you in labor, you push the baby out so the head is exposed, they tell you to stop pushing and they kill the baby, then have you complete the delivery. I hear a state on the east coast is considering a bill that would make every woman and child looking for an abortion to actually look at an ultra sound of the baby before they can conscent to an abortion. I think that is the best way to do it! If you are considering an abortion, see an ultra sound first. If you decide to not murder your baby, you can either keep it or give it up for adoption. To me, personally even if my life was in danger, I would carry the baby to term. (I did this! I gave a little girl up for adoption. She is now 17 and I have been able to see her and communicate with her over the years. She has great parents! I was told to abort her because both of our health was in danger. I didn't even consider it. I was checked every week and the doctor would say, "We'll see if you carry it another week." ) Think long and hard before you act, even if they say your health is in danger. Ask lots of questions and get second opionions!

Killing an innocent child. The thought of it makes me sick to my stomach. How can anyone justify, for whatever reason, killing their own flesh and blood and a innocent, thriving human being on top of that. We heard my sons heartbeat on an ultrasound at six weeks, and anything with a beating heart, is a thriving, living human being.Simple as this, it's murder!!
