Everytime i quit a game (after playing a game on fullscreen) on my pc, my system tray/ taskbar goes missing, when i click the windows start button on my keyboard that comes up but the tray does not come back on the screen anymore, so i have to re log in to my computer. Is there something wrong with my pc or can i bring my tray back up without re logging in?

Thanks to all answers in advance.

it is possible Explorer.EXE is crashing, or just not running correctly, it depends on your operateing system, if its XP and the explorer bar crashes, it should be restartable without rebooting the computer, press CTRL + ALT + DELETE and check to see if explorer is present on the System Task Manager under the "Processes" tab , if its not there, that is the reason why the bar is not reapearing ... im not sure as to the reasons it wont autostart it again, cuz normally it is ment to ... XP windows updates may help with this problem, if it persists you should e-mail microsoft, and attach a picture of the missing task bar to the e-mail, just to prove your point, and if they dont know ... who does? :D

if your using a pre-XP system, then you cant really do much about it, as its commenplace (take it from a ex-windows ME (mistake edition :D ) user) i used to loose the bar after every application i ran that needed my 3d card to go to full whack. if its using a pre xp operating system id advise you update it to XP at least as that may be the source of your problem (dont bother with vista for about another year or so ... too buggy)

check the taskbar is locked also, if it isnt that may be why the bar vanishes, to do this, Right Click On the taskbar, and scroll up the menu, check for a tick beside "Lock the Taskbar" ... if that dosnt work, then im all outa ideas :)

hope you find this useful
