Posible causes: Low coolant, bad thermostat, low speed fan malfunction, head gasket failure, no TCC operation, or last but not least it may be normal operation.
Check the coolant level, and replace the thermostat and surge tank cap. Those fail all the time on those cars.

Temperature sensor...get it checked or replaced... this should fix the trouble. i have a 1999 Chvy Cavalier with the 2.2L and i got a diagnostic test found that is was the temp sensor.
You could buy the part and wire it in yourself, cost was approx $ 8.62.
Best wishes...

I think it has nothin' with the replacing the brake routers, but it has a relation with what fluid you have added
actually it has not to be full in fluid. it's designed to be not full, it has to low a little
And check the thermostate ( temp )

Head gasket leak could do that too. Was this an existing problem before you worked on the car? I suppose it could be the sensor, but I would check the head gasket.

Ether the gage is not working properly OR more than likely the radiator needs water and anti-freeze. If the radiator gets empty it will blow the engine up!!!!!!!!!!! should go to a mechanic!!!
