"I'm Not A Christian; Can I Join The KKK?"
"From time to time, I receive emails from folks wanting to join the Klan who aren't Christians. They have noticed (on our application) that one must be a Christian before he/she can become a member of the Ku Klux Klan. Most of these folks just write a "one-liner" with the statement and question selected as the title above. I answer all of these emails..."

"Every election season, the Klan is always "out there" campaigning for some conservative politician, who still believes in moral, Christian values. Most times, "the people" never even see our contributions! Every once in a while the media will run a story on some of our rallies. Those events are soon forgotten. For example, last year the AWK rallied for the marriage between one man and one woman in Texas and North Carolina. There were positive results from those rallies. Amendments and/or referendums were passed in favor of traditional marriage. We know that we weren’t necessarily the decisive factor in the passage of those laws. However, we were VERY instrumental in gaining massive, public attention concerning the issue."

American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan:
In Their Own Words:
"Enemies from within are destroying the United States of America. An unholy coalition of anti-White, anti-Christian liberals, socialists, feminists, homosexuals, jews [sic] and militant blacks have managed to seize control of our government and mass media. This gang of criminals and degenerates has declared war on the hard working, tax paying, White citizens … The American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan plan to change things for the better. We shall liberate our nation from these savage criminals and restore law and order to America."

It still amazes me how close the neo right is to the oldtime conservative bigots in philosophy and action. These people are dinosaurs and belong in a museum.

Yes Jews and Catholics weren't allowed, these people were persecuted just as much as the African Americans were. The whole thing started with the under ground railroad. The KKK called the North sympathizers before and during the Civil War. The KKK belongs to the Southern Confederates that are now the Republican party that currently resides in the White House. After the war was lost they moved pods North in some of the less predominate towns to promote biased fear and hate across the Country.

The bill was sent to the House of Representatives, and referred to the House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Emmanuel Celler. Isn't race still a major issue where recruitment is concerned? I thought it was christian, conservative, and white. I'm curious what will happen in 50-100 years when the races are mixed so much that "pure" whites will be few and far between. Will the criteria for recruitment change, allowing gray skin but requiring a certain eye color? Or will the number of members just deminish?

The fact that anyone would want to join the KKK is sickening. The KKK has done nothing but disgrace our society and make a mockery of American society. I can understand the Klan's argument, but it is a poor one. (note to all white supremacists: I am aware that many of you tend to live in the south (maybe the attitude has to do with your family's cross-breeding). Evolutionarily speaking, the black person has a distinct, natural advantage in the south. A black persons skin resists sunburn and deals with the excess vitamin D received when one is closer to the equator in a healthy way. A white person's skin is not designed for warm weather. We are designed for the north. Our skin is designed for an environment lacking in vitamin D. A white person's skin will burn very easily. This means that you are actually the inferior breed of human in your environment.) The KKK has done nothing productive, and nothing that has ever aided society.
By the way: Yes I did know that you needed to be a conservative christian to join the KKK, and a stupid one at that.

The KKK is the basis of the religious fundamentalism in the US today, only with less emphasis on color, and more on religion. Its where KKK leaders went when the KKK was driven into the fringe of the political scene, and it explains why the Religious Right is so politically popular now. Although its easy to forget, the primary purpose of the KKK has changed a few times, from promoting slavery to a farmers organization to a political arm to ensure the purity of votes in an election.
Thinking in lockstep with little input from the average member is used in religion and fanaticism with equal results.
I notice you asked if we are aware of Christianity and Conservative as a prerequisite, but you forgot to add the third "C" Caucasian.

That was really scary. I thought the KKK was nearly extinct. It's amazing how many views the Klan shares with the neo conservative movement.

No, you simply have to claim you are. The ONLY requirement is the color of your skin (you have to be white). Being a hate-filled racist helps, too.
