Tinkerbell05 do not be so foolish, we know the British personnel were in Iraqi waters. The Iranians know this too, they went out of their way to kidnap them deliberately. The Iranians are liars and are playing games. They know it is easier to take Brits, than US, they know also they are scoring points amongst the idiots who think like them. Britain will get them back and not do anything at all. Iran on the other hand would be quite happy if it provoked a war it is what they want. bottom line here, ONLY people who do want war is the Iranian regime.

Yes,this is a problem...but unfortunately we don't know very well what happened there and where exactly the Brits were when the Iranians captured them...If they were caught in Iranian waters then there is no reason for Iran to back down...
War?Nope,I hope it won't get that far...
No PaddyRanger O,we don't know anything... The Brits say they were in Iraq waters, the Iranians say the Brits were in Iran water...Who should we believe?None of them are trustworthy...But I strongly believe that Iran does not want to start a war...

Your quite right to be concerned. Tensions do seem to be escalating. I certainly hope that the Iranians will back down, but I fear that this current regime in Iran is not the type that will end up seeing reason. They don't seem to have any regard for international law whatsoever.
I think we have a major problem. Lets hope it doesn't come to war, but if it does it will at least be for a valid reason this time. The worse case I can think of would be if the British sailors got killed and Britain backed down. That would be unforgivable.

What I don't understand is, Obviously the British Gov. know that the particular lump of sea is in dispute, therefore why the fcuk do they allow the Navy to dump a bunch of sailors in the drink aboard a rib (of sorts) when they know full well a foreign ship is in the area ( Don`t they have radar, satellite pics). and know full well what will happen. Not only that, are you telling me that the British Navy didn`t know,( Don`t they have radar, satellite pics) and that the Capt. let some of his crew go for a boat ride to be a bunch of patsies?

Iran, like many developing countries, love to play the age old game of brinkmanship.
However, in this case they were very fortunate.
Fortunate that the servicemen they snatched were not American Servicemen, Fortunate because had they been yanks, then by now, their coastline would have been surrounded by an armada of American Millitary vessels.
Either way, these men will be paraded like before and then released, probably not until verbal exchanges become very heated, but they will be released.
What we have to hope for is that Tony Blairs allegiance to America is not called upon to escalate the present situation, or maybe we should?

Iran will not back down. They look "strong" to the idiots that think like they do. The U.N. as usual is worthless. Its a damn shame but much like the situation when they held our embassy personnel hostage. Something has to be done about Iran. If not it sets a precedent to any rogue nation that they can do anything they want and expect no reprisal.

I think Iran has a major problem if they dont release them soon,You dont go around kidnapping soldiers of the British army and expect to get away with it.If they arent released I think you can safely say that Iran will be levelled. I dont condone this action but it's a fact of life !!

Make an example out of them. Their threats have gone on long enough. Take care on one problem, and you will solve a whole bunch of problems at once. Don't talk, Just Do It!! That is what our government needs to do.

Nope. Iran knows that the UN is powerless, just like the way the UN is handling the North Korea nuclear crisis.

Iran needs to realize that the world could care less if the British went to the presidential palace and mooned the Iranian clerics. The Iranian government is crazy. The British government is not.
