I have read several articles and even talked to a friend of mine that owns a tanning bed business. They all agree that you should go every other day or every two days.

Um...how about never. Perhaps people are getting annoyed that I'm so anti-tanning, but I wish I would have paid attention when I was younger. I tanned year round, either sun or tanning beds and ended up with melanoma as a result (diagnosed when I was 32 - 2 years ago). I am lucky in that I only have a nasty 2" scar on my forearm...but I still have to go back to the doc on a regular basis for a head to toe skin check. Because chancees are with melanoma it will come back. And if it spreads, a person is screwed.
So to answer your question, again, don't use a tanning bed. A tan is a sign that your skin is already damaged, not a sign of health. And tell your stepmother the same.

NEVER! Tanning is worse for you than actual sun exposure. You have dramatically increased your chances for skin cancer.
A study conducted in Sweden helps to prove that tanning beds are a major factor in the development of malignant melanoma. Different people, all under the age of 30, were included in the study. The data concluded that the people who used tanning beds more than 10 times a year were seven times more likely to develop malignant melanoma than those who did not use tanning beds as often. Researchers estimated that by the year 2000, the risk of developing skin cancer for those who did not use tanning beds would be one out of every 97 persons, and that the chances for those who did use tanning beds would be one out of every 13 persons (http://winonanet.com/health/articles/1996/feb/tan.html). The study also concluded that melanoma risks are increased by 300% for those using tanning beds occasionally, and that the risks increase by 800% for those who use tanning beds more than 10 times a year (http://www.hlthmall.com/tanning.html). Try a self tanner instead.

in the starting up.. why attempt this at the same time as summer is ideal around the nook? Lay exterior and tan! that is more less expensive and extra valuable for you! yet.. on your question. you may commence on ranges. extraordinarily if you're honest. searching on your age ( My chum is 14) at the same time as she went she obvi became factor a million. she went first for 6 minutes, then the subsequent 12, and that became it because she concept it became ineffective on account that she could go exterior. each and each consultation definite it about 30 funds. by technique of the time you observe consequences it will be summer so.. both purchase tanning lotion or spray tan.

The best thing to do is not to use tanning beds at all. But if you must use one, go once a week and keep it simple. Or try the Mystic Tan - which is simply a spray on tanner that has a quick effect.

I have a friend that goes tanning about 2 times a week and she slowly ahs gotten nicely tanned and she looks great just liek if she has been in the sun. And she says she goes on Monday and Friday and she says it better to tan slowly and not too fast so the tan will be on longer and not look like you were in a stove. so 2 timees a wek seems like a good plan.

please be careful, there was a girl who died from over exposure, what happened is she went to different tanning salons all over cause they have a certain limit as to how much you can use them, so she went from one salon to the next. any way she got these terrible stomach pains and died in the doctors office, she had been cooked inside out, like a microwave, her organs were cooked and bleeding, this is not a joke, iwouldn't even step foot in one of those places. But if you have to go very rarely , please listen to what i have said, that is a true story and would be the most horrible way to die. please be careful!!!!
