To be more specific... After doing the bypass, (connecting the two tubes that connect to the firewall together), I began to refill the coolant reservoir and noticed when I was refilling that one of the valves on the firewall started to drip (release water/coolant) My question is, why is it doing that? Did I do something wrong?

You have coolant trapped in the heater core. More importatly what you meant to do, was connect the two hoses from the engine together.

Have you considered replacing the valve? Maybe you could fix it without sacfificing your heat.

I hope you connected the 2 tubes that come from the engine - otherwise, you still have an open cooling system. Make sure you drain off the coolant that's already in the heater core, or it can leak a bit - if you try to seal it off with coolant still in it, expansion from heating (sitting in the sun, radiant heat from engine, etc.) can force some of the coolant out past the seal.
