Why does the US need like 30 US bases all over the world?

W O W!!! was I waaaayyy off! According to this website we have over 6,000 US military bases worldwide!!!!

Those bases are in those countries by agreement with that country. They are used to based a force for protection of the various theaters we serve. It's not just a war thing. We use them to launch humanitarian efforts as well like the earthquake in Iran, Pakistan, and the Tsunami in Indonesia. We're not just fighters.

Singapore has an Air Force Base in Arizona. More of a training ground for pilots including the Apache Singapore purchased.

It is important to maintain a strong presence for many reasons. One is psychological and acts as a deterrent. The US European command's mission is to maintain ready forces for trans antlantic security to promote regional stability, and advance US intrests in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. I'm sure I do not have to list the reasons why we have bases in S. Korea. There are bases in 39 countries for 39 good reasons, but I do not have enough space to type them all.

The German Air Force controls most of Hollarman AFB.

I believe Canada has joint bases with America. There is NORAD and there is the Joint North American Defense Agreement.

ya know kell your right, lets get those guys out of those bases and see what happens then.. i don't like it ether but we need some control in the world .... the u.n is'nt going to do that
