my baby only is only 4lbs. my doctor is giving me non stress test and is going to induce me, at me 37 weeks. i heard this can hurt the baby as the baby wont have room to grow and may not get enough oxygen. should i have my doctor induce me now or have him wait the 2 wks, i want my baby to be ok.

I had my daughter at 33.5 weeks and she is a healthy two year old. But i have a friend who didn't know she had an aging placenta and the doctor waited til she wa s38 weeks pregnant to induce her, and in the end it killed her son because of the lack of oxygen he was getting due to the placenta not working properly anymore {her placenta was like on from a 43 week pregnancyand she was only 38 weeks pregnant} so i would say go ahead and have the baby now because even at 4 lbs with todays technology and some love from the baby's parents she/he will be healthy, just alittle small and he may need a few days in the NICU. My daughter spent 10 days there and weighed 4'15 when she was born and there's nothing wrong with her. And i didn't have an aging placenta either, just a hard headed child that wanted her presense to be known LOL If you need to talk or have more questions just email me at supermom12042702@yahoo.com

You should listen to the doctor. I had a baby at 37 weeks, that extra 2.5 weeks makes a lot of difference for babies.

37 weeks isn't too early - lots of very healthy babies are born from 35-40 weeks. I would listen to your doctor. Supposedly, they know what they are doing.

do it in two weeks, then the baby is technically considered full term, less worries then. i wouldnt worry too much about the weight, i am sure he or she is as healthy as can be! your doctors know what they are doing, promise!
