Interesting question my friend, interesting question.
Well, ordinarily, I wouldn't cut it, unless it had a tricky filling such as grated cheese, that tries to all spill out. In which case, I would halve it horizontally.
However, on certain special occasions, e.g. partays, I would cut it into four mini triangles. Simply because they're kinda cute.
I don't like cutting a huge one in half diagonally though, because it's too fiddly, and the pointy corners go all floppy if you're not careful, and my hands aren't big enough to support them.

No matter what kind of sandwich it is my husband forbids me to cut his sandwiches.
I'm a little weird though. For PBJs and Grilled cheeses I cut them into diagonal 1/4. Tuna fish I usually cut them in half up and down. For deli-style sandwiches I always cut them once diagonally. I think I'm OCD... I have a method for almost everything.

Why would I cut it? Cutting it only invites other people to "take a piece".
Just grab it in my hand and enjoy it as a single piece of food. Not necessarily shove it all in though.. Just keep it for myself... hehehe :)

I have an art to this.
peanut butter.....no cut eat away
others.....center...exactly center top to bottom
bagels......never cut
