It connects via a USB but I dont have the install CD to get it working...

you could try the manufaturers website for the drivers

go to the dell website and look up the model of the device in this case the printer fax scanner combi and download the drivers. then install them on your lap top.
sadly without the drivers for your device it will not work. always best to go to a manufacturers website to get the drivers for a device than one of the many other sites as in my experiance i got a driver and it had been tampered with and left my computer unusable until i removed the driver, and reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled all myt software etc.

Download the drivers from the dell website.
