Hi everyone! I'm new at Pokemon and I am also confused. What is the difference between Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl? and why did they make a Pokemon Diamond AND Pearl?

lol They have many doubles released at the same time. Leaf Green and Fire Red. Blue and Yellow. Gold and Silver, etc. They're pretty much the same game, they just have different pokemon here and there in the game. I believe it's the same set up, and the same bosses and all. You can collect different pokemon throughout the game (for example you can catch a wurmple on one version, and a catterpy (sp?) on the other. (Don't hold me to that though.)) Plus I believe the starter pokemon to choose from are different too. It's just pokemon's way of making sure that if you're a big collector of pokemon, you MUST have both versions, (or a friend with the other to trade with) to get your pokedex full. It's just another money-making scheme.
I hope this helps!

the only difference is the different pokemon you can catch in each game, and with more people liking pokemon, i'm sure the creator will want more pokemon, more new games and of course more money

The difference is almost all that they each have different pokemon (Including the game's main pokemon Dialga and Palkia).

they made 2 so you have to get a friend to get the other one because some pokemon can only be caught on a certain version and must be traded to the other to "catch them all"
