During WDW pirates and Princess party, you have to buy a special ticket to participate. Is the park open to everyone on those days or is it just available to the families who are invovled with that program?

The benefit of paying the additional money for the parties that Disney offers is that only the people with those tickets can get in. Since the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas parties were such a hit, they decided to add another one in, one that was more specifically for kids.

The party is great and a ton of fun, I have adult friends that have just as much fun as their kids.

Disney only allows a certain amount of people to get into the parties, so many times you are able to walk right onto the rides that are open, no all rides will be open, something you should look into. So if gives you a short amount of time in the park to do all the things you want. You don't get a full day in the park, but you can get more done in those few hours than you can in a whole day when the park is busy.

Since this is additional purchase price, you may not want to buy the extra day of passes on the days that you would be doing the party. But, be sure to look into what the extra day actually costs. If you get a longer pass, the extra days will only cost about $1.07 per person to add on. If that is the case for your tickets, depending on the lenght, then it would probably be worth paying a few days to just go in and relax, get something to eat, etc.

Hope this helps!

I'll add one thing I don't think was really clear. Yup, as has been said, they close, empty the park and then it's only open to a limited number of people. I did this for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and it was one of the best times I've ever had in the park. Sure the "extras" were fun, and the special decor and touches were nice.

BUT the real magic in going to one of these is that the number of tickets sold is limited, so beyond the mob mess at the gate to get in, the small number of crowds and virtually no lines at anything! You can walk through the park and there is room to walk. You can do the park in half the time as usual and in a far more pleasant environment. You'll only hit a line at a few of the places and even those will be much less than usual. And I see this one is costume as well. I know on Halloween it was really fun to go dressed up. So if you get a chance to go to one of those type events I'd grab it...they are great!

The park does close early durning the night when they do have the pirate and princesses party. They dont have it every night in case you where wondering. Now the P and P party is a hard ticket event which means the park is NOT open to everyone just to those who bought a ticket to the party. Check out the link below to find out more.

I believe the Princess and Pirate party is going to be one of those special ticket events similar to Disney's Night of Joy. On that day, the park will be closing early. Usually around 5 pm and those with the special tickets will enter the park at that time. You will enjoy the party as well as a treasure hunt. Disney will have selected rides open also for you and your family to enjoy.
Enjoy your trip

The parties are later. After the park closes, then it opens for the special few who have purchased the party tickets. The rides are all open, the wait is much shorter, and there are little stations set up with souvenirs and candy. It is like Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween.

Walt Disney World is open to everyone, except for certain occasions, such as kids who have disabilities and ect., sometimes the parks close a day just for those kids, but for these parties it does not close, you can still enter the park, but you just cannot go with the parties and do what they are doing, they are seperate and by themselves,

enjoy your vacation and stay safe.
