Way out in the woods (desert, wasteland, etc), buried deep in a waterproof plastic container (like Otterbox). Use a GPS to locate a reference point and bury the item "X" feet away on "XXX" compass bearing. You can write down the GPS coords if you need to, but should memorize or store somewhere else the distance and compass bearing. Obviously this is for long-term hiding, not routine storage you'll keep going back and forth to.
