smurfs are still blue, just a deeper blue.
Usually when I feel blue it's sort of a self pity that I have little control of. Like I feel sad since my birthday is almost here and I too broke to go shopping.

because the word blue was being populered first to associate with sad before yellow, and other colors promoted..
