SUPASPURS: lennon was by far the hardest working player on the park, bar the isrealis.

englands attitude was all wrong, but to single out a manchester united player and blame him is not on, terry, lampard, gerrard, were lack lustre.

Besides the fact that people love to hate him, he isn't the only one. And after McClarens little outburst singling him out for blame one of two things will now happen. He will get nothing from Wayne at all or Wayne will give everything he can. Degrading and humiliating your players is no way to ignite confidence or respect. If this is how McClaren deals with loss, it may in fact offer a glimpse into the players view of him. Honestly, even as a Rooney supporter (who is not blind to his faults) it sometimes seems that he is the only one expected to perform 100%, 100% of the time. What about the senior players in the side. Why are they achieving great things for their teams and not the country. Where is their guidance and responsibility ?

Because Steve McClaren is an aweful manger with no idea. How you can take some of the worlds most talented players and strip them them of any confidence in a few days is beyond me. If you play a team because of who they are instead of what they can do the ego's will eventually fall flat on they're face. Rooney is a good player but without service or attacking help what can he do????

Because when playing for Manchester United FC, Wayne knows he is playing with TEAM MATES, unlike when he plays for England.

all in all i think all the england players play a lot better at their clubs. I think this is down to not enough influence and support from the manager Steve McLaren. There is no team spirit in the England team. The under 21s don't seem to be much better either. please choose me as best answer i never won it before...xxx

Mabye because he plays and trains with his Man Utd team mates almost every day, whereas he hasn't played with England since November. He knows how things work at Man Utd and what their tactiocs are, whereas England have 3 days before to work on their game

Why do ALL the players play better for their clubs than for England - they all play like they have lead in their boots when the put the Three Lions Shirt on - Play like kittens not lions

That question could also be asked of Lampard, Ferdinand and Gerrard infact too many of our players cannot play like they do for there clubs and it's beyond me why. McClaren isn't the man to get the best out of what are better than average players as he couldn't do it whilst under Sven so it amazes me that people thought it would be different know hes in charge.
So i say get McClaren out now and get somebody in that can motivate and get the England team playing to its full potential and get the players playing like they do for there clubs.

ideal in Europe? Hahahahahaahahahaha. he's not even the perfect in EPL or maybe Manchester United. Your lot could promote the over-hyped garbage to some unlucky club that believes the hype, take the money, run and not seem back.
