I have been looking for a DS and have found only DS lite wherever I turn.

The DS lite is smaller than the original----can anyone who has used both tell me if the screen is the same size?

Does the screen seem smaller? or harder to see? Is the image quality better? or the same?

How does it compare to the SP? Do older games look okay on it?

I know there are specs out there for screen size :) but sometimes a number doesn't match up with experience LOL

Before my son sinks ALL of his earnings into a new system I would greatly appreciate some feedback.

Thank you very much.

The size of the screen doesn't matter, the quality is the same, the games have the graphics encoded onto the game itself so the graphics are the same on each system. The ds lite screen is just wider than the original ds and the whole system itself is smaller for the same price, and smaller is better in terms of handhelds.
My boys ages 14 and 15 have had them all and they like the DS lite the best.

They are the same size. The DS Lite is better in every way possible except that being so small it is occasionally difficult to handle for some people. They use different power cords and stylus sizes too.
All GBA games (including SP and Micro) do look better on the DS too. I sold my SP for a DS Lite and have no regrets. Just remember that the DS loses the ability to play original and Color Gameboy games.

well i have an old ds and it still plays great the only real differance in the ds and ds lite is the ds lite is brighter and lighter so if you want somthing portiable you should get a ds lite oh and the old games look the same as they used to you just cant play any old game boy color or original game boy games on it
