You don't understand why the foreclosure situation is your problem anyway.
The mortgages that are being foreclosed on represent losses to major lenders, and if they go belly up as some already have, that means losses of jobs, more people on government relief, and they might lose their own houses and cars, and the government will do what? Stand by, or think they'll bail them out? If they do a bailout, whose money do you think they're likely to use?

If it were that simple, I'd say good for you...classic turtle and the hare...you win. I am in the same situation as you as I watched a lot of people my age move to DC, LA, ATL..buy houses they really could not afford, get cars they could not afford..but they were playing the part. On the outside it looked like..wow these people are doing really well. I could not see it then but now I realize that they are probably in deep trouble now. the problem with people getting these houses and loans they can not afford is they do not look at life situations that may occur which is dumb. I mean, whayt if you get a mortgage for a house and you obviously can't afford the house, but you end up living pay check to paycheck to pay for the house...like duh...what if you lose your job, or are in a car accident and can't work, or your kid develops an illness that requires serious medical care and money. Like why would people put themselves in that situation knowing life is so ..anything can happen. it is just not a smart move just to say you own a house. I do feel sorry for families that are going through foreclosure because that is traumatic and a lot of stress..but people have to think beyond 10 minutes. So for the people who have been saving to buy a house and being thrifty..good move, housing values will plummet and that has always been the best time to snatch up property.
My issue is this however, I understand your stance, but my concern now is if this foreclosure thing is much bigger than we think., If it is this widespread, americans are already deep in debt with credit cards, most people do not have a savings, or they drew from their retirement, savings credit cards to try to save their house.....will this lead to an economic depression. The economy is already weak anyways and this could have a ripple effect through many sectors not just housing..so ultimately it may affect you to some degree

I totally know what you mean. Here we are, cutting corners and pinching pennies or what some might refer to as "living within our means" while others are out there financing an extravagant lifestyle getting all the "toys" and doing all the travelling.
Then, when it all starts to catch up with them, they have their house forclosed on and declare bankruptcy and basically get away with it without having to take responsibility.
Um, I can't say that I find it as fun as you, I feel really bad when people have that happen to them, but I feel bad for them even before it happens and hope that they can reign in their spending before it gets too out of control.

You have to be a pathetic person to laugh at people who are going through foreclosure. Personally I am not, nor are most I know. But some people are facing problems mainly because the banks suckered them into loans and rates they coudlnt afford.

hahaha...absolute golden.
i get a nice laugh when i read this.
Alot of succesfull people out there believe that the way they got to where they are is by going the opposite way that most others go..In ure case you saved money while others spent, now you will be able to rake in all the profits while others cant.

why would you laugh at someones misfortune- its just bad Karma. You money (so called) will not warm you when your old and miserable because of your lack of compassion. However give the devil his dues- your buying at the rite time- but please do not be so smug as to think this may not bite you in the rear somewhere down the line.

You are a very mean person. To think that you wish this upon people, even though it was their mistake. Stop glouting, because what goes around comes around.
