I`m planting 3 diffrent types of potatoes in the garden this year, Pontiac Reds, Yukon Golds and Swedish Fingerling, and live in zone 3. Do I have to plant them on Good Friday or is that just an old wives tale?

Many garden myths are carried over from religious beliefs ages ago. Back then, some believed that a Priest or other leader of faith needed to bless the plants. Many go by the moon and some use the Farmers Almanac. I just plant after the chance of frost is over.

Try planting some on Good Friday and some NOT on Good Friday and see what happens.
