Since many businesses monitor computer use, it would probably be a good idea to run searches on your computer that indicate your interest in supporting the business for which you work. Then, as you discover useful information or develop new work-related skills, you can share this information with your co-workers and your bosses.
Do/be whomever it is you desire to be in your future.

Try researching things related to your line or work that you're interested in. Look up work-related organizations like Toastmasters if you're an administrative assistant. Look up stuff related to other people's departments and learn more about the industry you're in. You will be making yourself a more valuable employee, learning, and killing a lot of time!

You need to avoid the Internet completely while at work unless you are working on a problem that you were directed to work on. If I found you working on a site that I had not directed you to for part of your work I would fire you on the spot as would most other bosses today. The reason they pay you and call it a job is because it is work not play it is not their job to amuse you in slow times but it is your job to focus on work at all times while you are being paid.
