please dont ask me why i am doing the both cos it really does hurt me.he was really hungry when i had him and i just couldnt seat down and breast feed the whole day cos i had to do house work attend to my 2year old daughter and also my hubby.
any now i am still breast feeding most of the time and then give formular when i am not there or when out.
i expressed my breastmilk at some point and later stopped cos i noticed he wanted to stop breastfeeding ie taking from me rather than the bottle.
now my question is i am going back to work and am not sure if i should express or just give formular then when i get back from work contiinue with my breastfeeeding.expesing is quite difficult and hectic and am not sure what time i would have to be doing this esp now i am going back to work, secondly i am thinking if i leave an expressed bottle and formular for him he might just refuse the formular then i am in trouble.lastly because i am doing mixed feeding my breastmilk is not quite alot

You have given him an excellent start y continuing to breastfeed as long as you have. There is no shame in switching to all formula. Pumping milk is exhausting and you might not have time at work to do so. I pumped breastmilk for my son because he was on a feeding tube (Almost 3 months early) and I had to pump every 2 hours to get enough for him. When he came home after 10 weeks I finally gave up and switched him to formula. He is now 2 1/2 and completely healthy and active.

All you can do is follow your instincts. If you wish to continue then continue, if you wish to stop than do so cause you have given a great start to your little one. I do suggest to stop very slowly this way you will not be uncomfortable.

I did both and in the end I did express and give formula. My daughter accepted both. If you are worried that he'll start prefering one over the other you can also mix the two together in a bottle.

I wish you the best and good luck when you go back to work.

If I were you, I would let him have formula when I wasn't there but continue to breastfeed when I was. Even if it was only the last meal of the night and the first meal of the day. He would still get the benefit of breastfeeding but you would have one less thing to figure out how to do during your busy workday. Most of my friends have found that their babies soon learn that the good stuff only comes from Mommy and they learn to bottle feed when they are with other caregivers.

I agree with what's been said so far, I just want to add that sometimes babies do wean themselves, unintentionaly. My son, when he was about five months old, ghad horrible constipation, so I finally ended up putting some karo syrup in his bottle, which worked wonders, but was also very sweet and after that he didn't want much to do with my breast milk. Nursing is also more work for children, as well as their moms. I say the most important thing is to take care of yourself so that you can take care of your family, and if that means you stop nursing, then do it. Breastfeeding is the healthiest thing, sure, but it's ok to draw the line now. If anyone tells you differently you can tell them to f-off.
