No you dont....I used to work on the race track. The other day i went into the bookies to collect a £5 winning ticket at 3/1. The computers were down, and the young lad behind the counter had to ask his manager to work it out. He had to use a calculator, i was speechless.....

So you can get to be a manager without any mathematical skills what so ever...

Good Luck.................and dont trust any tips

U do not need to be mathmatically minded to work in the bookies, all u need is a ok understanding of probalility, up to year 9 or even to GCSE. When u do odds, all u do is make sure that no odds are to high, so people can't put bets on someone winning and losing a game and still make profit.
But mainly someone else should do that, all u mainly should have to do, is take in people bet slips.

you don't neccessarilly have to be einstein to work in a bookies, at least an average level of understanding of basic mathematical concepts is ok.

There would be no harm in fostering your mental arithmetic - learn shortcuts and quick methods
It will impress the Boss and the customers if you DON'T always reach for a calculator for some of the more elementary working... :-)
