That's not the right response, as it only makes you look small, vindictive and petty. You should just smile graciously and go on to the next person you can ask for the favor. When the person who declined your favor asks you for one, be the bigger person and do it. That will make them feel guilty that they did not do the same for you when you asked.

I understand that feeling...that is why I try and avoid all embarrassment. I usually form the question of asking them a favor with an "easy out" for them...that way they know I will understand if they are unable to do it.
Most people that are asked to do a favor really try and come through for you. It's a good feeling to be able to do something for someone and so if someone does turn me down for whatever reason then I tell them that I understand and that's it's "no problem".

Let it go. There may very well be a good reason why they cannot do you this favor. They may be busy or have no money to loan you. Depending on what it is you're asking them to do for you. Let it go and see if someone else can help you.

i will never ever ask a favor from anyone unless i have done something for them in the past.
It happened alot of time to me, getting the answer NO, I WILL LOSE MY JOB, THT IS ILLEGAL, OHHH GOD NO, JESUS CHRIST NO WAY MAN, NO, I M SORRY BUDDY I JUST CANT.
I ALWAYS REMIND THEM THE FAVOR I DID, AND I ALWAYS GET MY FAVOR. AS A BUSINESSMAN, NO IS NOT IN MY DICTIONARY.
But once an official in Indonesia rejected even though i reminded him the favor i did for him. As a vegence, i exposed his secrets to reporters.

i tell them, thats cool don't even worry about it. then i wait a lil' while and make them do what ever it is i had asked them for. I never ask anyone i'm not close to for a favor, cause i know my buddies & family will always say yes & if they don't, i either make them do it or make them feel really bad for saying no.
