There are so many postings here by non-Americans who advocate the downfall of America. It seems most of the world has forgotten the positive contributions America and its citizens make to the world's community.
Do you think its time for a Madison Ave. campaign to help highlight the good side of America and down play the negative propaganda being spewed out by our enemies?

I would worry much more about our own image of our country. I was listening to a Senator (can't remember which one off hand) and what he had to say was quite disturbing to me.

He spoke of the time he spends going around to talk with children in their schools. He said that no matter what type of school, whether private or public, christian or poor, when he asked them who felt the US was the greatest country in the world, only around 10% would raise their hands. Most of them would raise it but seem ashamed of it. He would then ask them if they knew or heard of anyone who left the USA to live in another country because they were oppressed. No kid would raise their hand. He would then ask them if they knew or had heard of someone who left another country to come to the US because they were oppressed, and every single child would raise their hand.

People come to our country because they know that there is no other place in the world that they can have as much freedom as we have. We shouldn't be ashamed of that fact and should careless if the rest of the world envy us. You always hate/blame those who have what you want and can not have. We have the best country in the world and I am not ashamed to think that way. Is it perfect? No. We most certainly have our own problems, since we are individuals and always will have our own ideas for what is best for our lives and the country.

Yes I do. First though, is to master a domestic image. Change the whole tv thing and make it special clips of common life and insignifcant yet stylish things happening. I think it would cause less scrutiny from non-Americans. Then when image is better, give presents and gifts to others and if they aren't into it don't associate. The usual nations that pretty much like us can be persuaded to think differently way too quick during a beer or something.

It doesn't matter what America does there will always be people that hate America.

The only thing that America can do is remain true to its founding principles and ideals.

I think no matter what we do the international community will hate us. We're the only super power remaining, and the that's the recipe for envy and hate.

What I think we should do is stop all foreign aid to countries that we give aid to but dislike us, for about six months, and then see what they think about it.

As long as we have troops in Iraq no amount of feel good advertising is going to change the feelings in the middle-east towards America. Hopefully in 08' we'll have a party change in the White House and we can get out of Iraq and start to repair the damage.

All the image enhancement in the universe won't address the underlying reality of this nation and its petroleum war.
All the image enhancement conceivable can't address how we no longer have habeas corpus protection, sanction torture and allow presidential elections to be stolen outright.

No. The US has never had to pander to its non-friends before, and starting down that road results in foreign control of our nation.

They will be nice to us when they need us. They always are.
