I did a web search and could find no information. I suspect someone is trying to get hopes up, but probably no basis in fact.

Sorry...

The extra days are as a result of the working time directive. At the moment people working full time get paid for 4 weeks ( 5 days x 4 = 20 days) per year and this can include bank holidays. From October 2008 this will exclude bank holidays so as an interim measure, we get 4 extra paid days this year and then 4 extra paid days next year and onwards to make a total of 28 days paid holidays ( 20 normal + 8 bank holidays). However, just for this year, I believe we are to get an extra bank holiday in Autumn to celebrate the Queens Diamond Wedding anniversary.

Hope that this helps
