You just need a video card that has 2 video outputs via VGA (blue ones) connections or DVI (white ones). Once it's installed either via PCI, AGP or PCIXpress (though since you said it was an old pc, it'll prolly be PCI). Just install the software/drivers for the card and hook up the 2 monitors. You should be good to go.

I use 2 monitors myself.

I recently converted to a dual monitor setup. There was no installation required, it was simply plug and play.

I have an ATi x1600 PRO 256MB Dual Dvi Graphics card.

I have 2x 19" Samsung N920 8ms response TFT Monitors

All I really had to do was right click on the desktop, go into display properties and change the order of the monitors so that the mouse would pass through the right side.

you do not opt for a twin pictures card or maybe 2 pictures playing cards (that's an complete waste of money). you may purchase a splitter at places like Fry's, ideal purchase, Wal-Mart (per chance), and definitely the web (it will be incredibly affordable). The splitter plugs into the port the position your modern video reveal is plugged in and it promises 2 ports from that one port... From there, you may plug in 2 video reveal instruments. once you've them both plugged in, suitable-click on the laptop and visit homes and visit Settings tab. There should be 2 bins on the acceptable (a million is one dimmed and also smaller than the different). suitable-click on the smaller, dimmed one and decide connected. make efficient the "amplify my Windoes laptop onto this video reveal" checkbox is checked. the second one video reveal could activate and teach your laptop heritage prolonged. Your 1st video reveal often is the position each thing opens, yet you may drag in spite of you open on your second video reveal and proceed engaged on your 1st video reveal...

I guess, there's no problem installing a monitor.

Most of the monitors these days jus come as "plug-n-play" devices. Even if any extra support is required, the CD/floppy is provided.

Jus follow the simple guidelines provided by ur installer.
