If homosexual couples really need to feel that they are married in the eyes of god, why not just elect a messiah & start up a religion that accepts gay marriage? It would be about as real as any other religion is.

Why don't us hetrosexual people just deal with the fact that not everyone is going to be like us?

In one way your question makes sense I suppose though. Alot of people are offended and say it's against the bible and God. Not enough people take thier religion seriously anyways so ya to start a new one wouldn't take much now would it? I personally think that gays have all the same rights that I have with my boyfriend. Who cares?

"the conventional beneficiaries of gay marriage would be divorce legal professionals." -Um, the certainty that Massachusetts has the backside divorce cost in the country and it replaced into the 1st state to allow gay marriages just about ten years in the past says that's misguided. Asker, they the two do in basic terms not desire "the gays" to have those pesky issues noted as rights or they desire some thing break away marriage, like civil unions, so as that they are able to experience their marriage is greater to the gay peoples' marriage. it rather is in basic terms bigotry, basic and straightforward. ""anti-gay" people in many cases do not desire the church to know it as a real marriage. in the christian bible it rather is needless to say between a guy and a woman" -no one cares what their church thinks approximately something. keep telling your dumb daughters that birth control is from the devil so as that they keep having childrens at 14. Which we've pay greater taxes to assist because of the fact the dumb **** can not make exchange for a $20 devoid of the help of a working laptop or pc not to show help a new child on her very own, which in all possibility has FAS because of the fact she replaced into too stupid and drank or smoked on an identical time as pregnant.. tell them however the f*ck you like. we are able to get equivalent rights regardless.

LOL...
There are plenty of existing religions that will perform Gay Marriages, and those Marriages, just like YOUR marriage, are not recognized as legal and carry NO rights without the License sold by the State.
It has nothing to do with religious views and viewpoints, it's all about the legal rights, responsibilities, and obligations that go along with that License.

Its no about God, or a God. Gays can have union ceremonies, and their are ministers out there that will conduct them. The point is the marriage is not seen as legal. Married couples have certain rights regarding coinsurance, capital purchases, taxes, etc. So without the legalization of gay marriage, homosexual couples cannot have these rights that heterosexual couples have.

Phenomenal thought there.
However I think the problem is a great deal more than that. They want equal benefit rights and laws. I'm straight, married with a child and I agree with them completely. Who the hell are we to tell someone else how to be happy in their own life. Or to push culture on another country that won't have it?

Shame on those that would seek to stop gays from being married. It doesn't defile the sanctity of man + woman marriage in the least. What's so great about Man + Woman unions really? Divorce rate is through the roof!, abuse, spousal and child. You name it. If we can't get it right who are we to tell others that they don't even get the chance?

Good thoughts though.

I dont think it is the issue to have it seen as a marriage in the eyes of God but rather to have it recognised by the state and have the same marital and legal rights as straight couples, not religous rites.

We're not necessarily asking for religious marriages. What we are looking for is the right to marry and all the responsibilities and rights that go along with marriage. Civil marriages are just fine.

do you mean like the christians did? jesus was jewish, and the jews still question if he was the messiah or not. but in any case, his words and teaching were about forgiving, and most of all not to judge others, less we be judged. as for gay marriage if two people love each other and want to share their lifes together and they are not harming anyone. why do you care. jesus welcomed all in his circle.

Get a life! There is more in the world than Christianity. Take your blinkers off and look around.

I am not Christian. My religion predates Christianity and according to it being gay is perfectly fine! If I wanted to get married in a religious service I would us one of our our Druid priests or priestesses.

Because...Homosexuality is not about religious beliefs. It is about sexual preference - Who to mate with.
You kind of answered the question IN your question. "If homosexual couples need to feel that they are married in the eyes of God..." Gay couples that want to feel accepted by God...dont want to "elect" a new messiah. ...
Kind of self explanatory.
