Dip it into a bucket of mild detergent (dish soap or Dreft laundry detergent) and then rinse and wring it out thoroughly, and leave it to dry overnight.

What I do is use a clean never used paintbrush and brush off the dirt and dust off No Water Needed of my stuffed collectible bears and other stuffed toys it works very well and they look as good as new everytime, I have done this for years, even on teddybears older than thirty years old and they don't look a day over a week old, there are no lumps to worry about or no damage, just make sure the brush is soft and that you go careful around the eyes and other delicate parts of the stuffed toys. Good Luck !

Fill a large bowl with cornmeal and rub the toy with cornmeal until clean. The dust and soil will transfer from the toy to the cornmeal. This is an old wive's trick that really works!
