A 2.5 liter jug contains 2 liters of raspberry syrup solution that is 15 percent syrup. If half of the solution spills out of the jug and it is then filled to capacity with water, what is percent of the resulting solution is syrup?

1 litre of 15% Syrup = 150ml of pure syrup.

We now add 1.5 litres of water to make it up to 2.5 litres.

150ml or 0.15 litres / 2.5 litres = 0.06 or 6% pure syrup

No. The jug was filled to 80% capacity to start with. So the answer will not be as simple as you have tried to make it.

.3 liters of syrup to start with. half that goes on the floor, so there is .15 left, the entire bottle is the filled. 2.5 liters. so .15 / 2.5 = .06

6% is the correct answer

2l=15% 1l=7.5%
1/1=7.5% 1/2.5=3%
2.5l=3%
