wood alcohol and steel wool will do it, as will acetone (which might also remove the paint, but). I use eucalyptus oil - it leaves a refreshing smell on the room for some time after. Euc oil is also good for getting labels off glass jars and things.

I saw when I was young that people would take a razor blade and cover one blade side with white medical tape for the side they held and to scrape with the blade sideways gently and not scratch but I haven't tried it myself. I like my fingernail or an esso brush. Nail polish remover helps to get paper unglued but can also take colour from some things. For all forms of glue, whether on cabinets, glass furniture or in hair such as real glue or gum the old timers always used crest toothpaste after in this case scraping with the razor. They might just use it on a cloth, directly squirt on an object or use an old toothbrush. For some reason other toothpastes didn't work as well. It didn't hurt or mark anything and you then just used water to take the toothpaste off.

soak the sticker with WD-40
let it set a few minutes so the Wd-40 can get between the sticker and the cabinet then gently lift off using a plastic knife or fingernail
is any glue is left behind spray again with WD-40
WD-40 is made from fish oils
it will not harm the finish

I always use something called, 'Goof-off'. It's a couple of dollars and you can get it anywhere...hardware store, probably even in one of the grocery store aisles. It comes in a little yellow rectangular can with a red cap. (Can kind of looks like a miniature charcoal lighter fluid can). It is great for anything like that...gum in the rug, sticky stuff, etc.
